“David Marshall has championed the effort to make an extremely useful and timely piece of American history much more appreciated and useful to young people today. He has developed a very innovative approach to the stories of the Underground Railroad…a chapter in American History that tells of courage, compassion and character. The story of people, both enslaved and free, who either traveled or helped others to travel to freedom …is something of which every school child should be intimately aware. We all benefit from knowing how hard fought was the battle for freedom and justice.”
